Australian Government Grants

The Australian Government, through the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) and the Department of Education and Training (DET) provides Australian universities with funding to support Australian students to study overseas through student mobility programs.

New Colombo Plan (NCP) Mobility Grants - support undergraduate student mobility to the Indo-Pacific region with student grants between $3000 - $7000. The NCP program aims to:

  • Lift knowledge of the Indo-Pacific in Australia by increasing the number of Australian undergraduate students to study in the region
  • Deepen Australia’s people –to-people and institutional relationships with the region
  • Establish study in the Indo-Pacific as a rite of passage for Australian undergraduate students
  • Increase the number of work-ready Australian graduates with regional experience

Endeavour Mobility Grants - support study mobility between Australia and the rest of the world with student grants of $5000 for semester programs. Endeavour Mobility Grants include the following programs:

  • International Student Exchange Program (ISEP)
  • Endeavour Cheung Kong Student Exchange Program (ECKSEP)
The Endeavour program aims to:
  • Support students to study overseas for academic credit, or for a mandatory component of the student’s course
  • Create opportunities for students to engage globally with other students, institutions and employers
  • Strengthen institutional capacity to collaborate and partner with overseas education providers
